Among many things, they discussed the Rosewater’s 5th Anniversary, the Act of Kindness Contest where one lucky person will win a spa getaway for 2 to the Oaks at Ojai in California; the Rosewater’s expansion of the Lower Level and the new VIP Suite for couples. Sheila Cluff is the owner and founder of The Oaks at Ojai, in addition to being president and founder of Fitness Inc., Fit Two and Health Holidays Inc. She introduced “Cardiovascular Dance” to the world in the l950’s which today is known simply as “aerobics”. In addition to overseeing operations and teaching at both The Oaks and The Palms Sheila has authored four books, publishes Spa Update, a newsletter with 50,000 circulation; writes several syndicated columns on fitness; has produced four fitness videos and is a founding member of the Committee of 200, is a past member of the governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and serves on the Intercontinental Hotels Advisory Travel Board, the C200 foundation board and the International Spa Association (ISPA) education foundation board. From the travel journal of Liz Belford … Dear Diary: The Canadian incentive tour of 2006 to Biodroga in Baden-Baden Germany was fabulous! Who would believe that five years ago the Rosewater Spa was Biodroga’s first account in Canada? For centuries, Baden-Baden has been treasured as one of the world’s favourite destinations because of its thermal, healing waters. At Biodroga, we were introduced to the exciting new trends in body and skin care. We met Biodroga’s head chemists, explored the extensive quality control process and experienced first hand why Biodroga is on the leading edge of skin care throughout the world. It was five incredible days of everything imaginable, thanks to our gracious hosts. Tsunami Relief… During the first few weeks of January 2005 the team at the Rosewater Spa rallied together with clients and raised a remarkable $1000 – in less than 5 days - which was matched dollar for dollar by the Rosewater and the Federal Government to aid victims of the tsunami in south east Asia. Who says we can’t make a difference? West of the City March/April 2010… Rosewater Spa is named one of Holly Crawford and Barbara Deppisch’s favourite spa treats. Zonta Club Oakville …  October 2007: Rosewater Spa of Oakville becomes a proud sponsor of Zonta Club Oakville. The Zonta Club of Oakville has been working in the Halton community for nearly 35 years assisting women and their families. Some of the organizations that Zonta has supported are: Wellspring Halton, Halton Women's Centre, SAVIS, Halton Women's Information Centre, Big Sisters, Ian Anderson Hospice, Kerr Street Ministries, Sheridan College and scholarships for young economically challenged and talented women to continue their education. 2008: Sponsorship continues. |
